We say: The updated Trigon Guide is a bit firmer than its neutral-cushioned sibling (the Trigon 4 Ride) thanks to a firmer foam post found on the medial (inner) side of the shoe. Saucony removed the overlays in the Guide's upper to help decrease blister risk, and created less-pronounced flex grooves in the outsole for better forefoot cushioning. RW Shoe Lab tests found this update to be just as flexible as its predecessor. Recommended for runners with normal to low arches looking for a supportive, well-cushioned shoe.
Wear-testers say: "A great balance between cushioning and stability." --Connie Cantrell, 34, East Lansing
"The shoe had great arch and midfoot support." --Marian Salas, 38, Allentown
