Runner's World Shoe Lab Test Results

We say: The updated Empire is built on the same last (foot form) as the Asics Kayano and 2110, but with a different upper that uses more synthetic leather overlays. It features Biomorphic Fit panels, which expand to accommodate more foot widths. A new lightweight midsole foam makes this version more than an ounce lighter than its predecessor. Because the support features of the Empire are positioned a bit forward, it's recommended for runners who strike the ground at midfoot or forefoot and pronate later in the gait cycle. Available June 1.
