Runner's World Shoe Lab Test Results

We say: To account for women's wider hips, which cause their legs and feet to angle more sharply inward, Asics modified the 2110's Trusstic stability device to better control overpronation. The shoe is also built on a new women's last that's wider in the forefoot and narrower in the heel. However, several wear-testers reported fit problems in the arch and heel. (To help with this problem, Asics recommends buying a half size smaller than usual.) Recommended for women runners looking for a highly supportive stability shoe.

Widths: 2A–D

Wear Tester Reviews

Wear-testers say: "Comfortable, but I needed more support on longer runs." -Allyson Martin, 43, San Diego

"A bit loose and unsupportive in the arch." -Miyoko Nakajima, 25, San Diego

I have been running in the asics 2000 series for several years and always been happy. I have wide forefeet, narrow heels and flattish feet, although I do not overpronate very much. With the 2110 released in the Spring, I found the break in period to be longer than usual and the heel never fit as perfectly as before... and slightly loose in one forefoot. Despite this, I just bought the same shoes(new version in summer...)... I tested a bunch of shoes, but the asics seemed to fit best. MAybe I just had a weird pair?? Otherwise I love this series of shoes because I like the light, firm but flexible feeling run this shoe gives> I also think they are well made, with new materials etc( this in comparison to mizuno and nike)..
