Oct 2005 Shoe Guide
We Say: Designed as a trail-racing shoe, the Slingshot is built low to the ground. The shoe has a fast feel but doesn't offer a lot of impact protection due to its lower profile. In fact, RW Shoe Lab tests show it to be one of the firmest shoes in this guide. The rearfoot has an external plastic heel support and the outsole is made of a sticky rubber for traction. Inspired by La Sportiva's climbing shoes, the laces run nearly all the way to the toe, giving the shoe a snug fit, especially in the toebox. Recommended for trail or cross-country racers who enjoy feeling the terrain underfoot. Note: The Slingshot runs at least a half size small.
Wear-tester Says: "The lacing was snug with no pressure, but the forefoot felt a bit thin." -Caleb Kelly, 23, East Lansing
