Adidas also added softer foam to the heel, which RW Shoe Lab tests show provides a comfortable underfoot, especially for lightweight runners. On the upper, many of the stitched fabric overlays have been replaced with flexible plastic strips that are glued on to lessen the chances of hot spots and blisters. The shoe still features Adidas's GCS (Ground Control System), which incorporates a plastic plate so the heel can move independently of the shoe and adapt to changing conditions.
