Runner's World Shoe Lab Test Results

We say: In this update, New Balance added foam under the forefoot for improved impact protection and softened the sockliner for a cushier feel. (Our Shoe Lab tests confirmed that the 901 is softer than its predecessor, but only slightly.) The shoe also features the N-Lock lacing system, which provides a snug fit through the arch, and the "sausage-link" laces never come untied. The stable 901 is built low to the ground, which makes it an outstanding speedwork shoe, or an everyday trainer for runners with normal to high arches.
