We say: Mizuno made some big changes to the Alchemy. There's additional foam in the midsole and deeper grooves in the heel to better absorb impact forces. The Wave plate has been realigned and extended on the lateral (outer) side to help heel-to-toe transition. But Alchemy loyalists need not worry. This update weighs the same as last year's, and our lab tests showed it has similar cushioning and flexibility. Recommended for runners with normal to flat arches looking for a stable, supportive shoe.
Wear-testers say: "Great stability, but the forefoot cushioning could be improved." -Jayne Hartzog, 50, Allentown
"The shoe felt lightweight for the amount of stability it provided." -Chris Lett, 31, East Lansing

although I bought the correct size, this shoe feel "big and sloppy", the heel and toe box moves around too much. My feet hurt when I run in these shoes. I dont like them very much..

Not as soft and cushioned as the Alchemy 4--the additional support gave it a harder more akward feel. I was unhappy with the changes....
