We Say: This season, New Balance is updating the 766, a stability trainer that's loaded with support. It's a good choice for bigger runners or heavy heel-strikers because it features Abzorb, New Balance's high-end cushioning foam, in the heel. The midsole features a material called Acteva, which resists compression and therefore lasts longer. Thanks to a water-resistant mesh upper and fully gusseted (attached) tongue, the 766s should keep your feet free of spring rain and road debris. You'll also like the no-slip laces.
Wear-Testers Say: "I liked the support. I ran a 10-mile race without my orthotics and felt no soreness."-Jane Serues, 56, Allentown
"My knee pain went away when I started running in these shoes. If only they were lighter."-Jesse Sweeney, 30, East Lansing

This shoe is extremely comfortable and gives supreme support to the feet. I have had complex feet issues (plantar fasc., ect.) since 1999 and since I have been wearing these (along with numerous pairs of 763 and 764) my feet have been much, much better. I love them!.

I have been increasing my distance and trying hard not to injure my knee and I felt the difference as soon as I started wearing this shoe. I ran a 10-mile race with no problem! I will have to buy a new pair for the marathon, but at least I know which pair to buy!.

The shoes are very stablising. If you are prone then you may want to give them a try. I would rate them a .
