This new shoe comes with the same durable protective outsole found in LaSportiva's Pike's Peak. It also comes with a unique staggered eyelet design that stretches farther down over the midfoot to allow for more lacing options. Our testers were mixed on their reviews of this new design. Some liked the snug fit, while others felt the eyelet material was stiff and awkward. This firm shoe is recommended for bigger runners who prefer a flexible, sturdy shoe but tend to compress softer heels.
"After a short break-in, I liked this shoe quite a bit. It has a snug fit, great traction, and good debris protection."--Keith Carnes, 49, East Lansing
"Good stability over rough trails, but the sizing seems to be off. I'm normally a 9.5, but wore a 10.5 in this shoe." Robert Guigley, 59, Reading, PA
"The shoe was light-weight and provided good traction even on leaf covered trails." Claude Meruine, 50, Reading, PA
"The sole is a bit stiff, but at the same time this provided good protection against rocks and other sharp objects on the trail." Wayne Jensen, 56, Reading, PA
