Runner's World Shoe Lab Test Results
This new shoe has a wider forefoot compared with other Asics shoes, such as the Kayano, giving the foot a broader base of support. The firm foam stability device that runs along the inside of the shoe extends up into the forefoot. This adds to the shoe's overall support, especially for runners who pronate later in the gait cycle. Lastly, the shoe is slightly lower to the ground, which helps reduce the degree the foot sways inward just after heel-strike. Recommended for runners with low arches who want a stable trainer.
Wear Tester Reviews
"Very comfortable, but heavy." --Steve Schmilt, 22, East Lansing

"I liked the width of the toebox. It needs more heel cushioning, though." --Michael Bender, Allentown, 39

"Though it is an already fairly light shoe, it could be a bit lighter. It could also be more flexible and have a lower profile." --Marc Corrales, 19, East Lansing

"The cushioning could use some improvement." --Lynette. T. Zeckua, 57, East Lansing

"This shoe is a great trainer and very durable. The shoe is still giving me support and great cushioning even as I approach 200 miles in them." --Jonathan Miller, 25, East Lansing

"I really like the way the shoe supported my foot--it felt snug around the sides yet flexible underneath." --Bonnie Friedman, 47, East Lansing
