Runner's World Shoe Lab Test Results
This new shoe has a full-length plastic plate in the midsole that provides a smooth transition from heel-strike to toe-off. Lying above the plate is Saucony's Progrid cushioning system, which works like a tennis racket to supply a soft yet supportive landing, especially in the heel. RW Shoe Lab tests found the Paramount to be firm in the heel yet flexible in the forefoot. And wear-testers raved about the shoe's breathable upper. Recommended for runners with normal arches looking for a firm everyday training shoe.
Wear Tester Reviews
"A good, lightweight, comfortable shoe that breathes well." --Joe Puluer, 48, East Lansing

"Good cushioning, but the shoe should be lighter." --Kelly Stanton, 26, Allentown

"I think the forefoot could be a little narrower depending on your foot type. My foot felt like it was moving around too much." Thomas McNavage, 36, Allentown

"Both well cushioned and breathable, which seems hard to find in running shoes. I loved the sole too--it kept things stable without being bulky." Denny Watkins, 29, Allentown

I RUN 50 + MILES A WEEK IN THESE SHOES THE WEIGHT AND BREATHABILITY ARE AMONG THE BEST FOR A TRAINING SHOE. ALTHOUGH THE TOE AREA IS VERY LARGE, ALL IN ALL A GREAT SHOE THAT IS HOLDING UP WELL WOULD BUY ANOTHER PAIR FOR TRAINING ONLY..

It felt like walking on rocks in a river. If I had to choose to run a 5k in those shoes or massage my great grandmas feet grams would be getting the foot rub down..
