Sep 2007 Shoe Guide
We Say: This update is nearly an ounce lighter than its predecessor, and our Shoe Lab tests found it to be softer in the heel and more flexible. The softness is due to a larger cutaway section under the heel and a thicker layer of durable foam in the heel-strike area. The 2052's increased flexibility comes mainly from deeper flex grooves in the forefoot. Avia also used a new pliable mesh for a roomier forefoot fit. Recommended for runners with normal arches looking for a soft, flexible shoe.
Wear-testers Say: "I liked the cushioning, but the arch area was a bit snug."--Patrick Gavin, 25, East Lansing
"It was breathable and comfortable, but I worried about its durability."--Stephanie Gregory, 30, Allentown
