We Say: This excellent update features a more segmented midsole under the heel to better isolate and disperse impact. Asics used more gel in the heel to give the shoe a softer crash pad. According to our lab tests, these improvements make the 9 better at shock dispersion than its predecessor. There's also a new rearfoot overlay wrapping the heel that helps center and guide the foot for a better heel-to-toe transition. Recommended for runners with normal to high arches looking for a neutral-cushioned shoe with a bit of added stability.

I was having a hard time deciding between these and the more expensive Kensei so I ended up choosing the Nimbus because I have last years model and they worked great. Big mistake, after a short 5 mile I developed blisters and soreness in my knee. This is a totally different shoe than before and would probably be best suited to lighter runners with narrow feet. They also replaced some of the shoe string loops with holes, which took away some of the give making the shoe stiffer on top and harder to put on and take off..

I actually crossed the border to buy these shoes and would do it again in a heartbeat! I find that as the foot strikes the ground, I can hardly feel the shock at all. Very comfortable too. I would defiantly recommend them..

If you love the kinsei, you will love this shoe even more. The cushioning is similar with a comfier ride. .

Great shoe, very soft and gentle, after long miles running, you can tell the difference, so gentle when you strike the floor. Great response on paviment or soft running trails. The fit around the ankle is awesome, making so far the most confortable shoe I have ever used..
