WE SAY: The updated Rider comes with a new last that fits a bit wider in the forefoot and more snug in the heel. Not to worry, the 33 Runner's World wear-testers who ran in it said the shoe fit fine. What's more, our lab tests found the Rider to be the second most flexible shoe in this guide, which is good news for light- to medium-weight runners who don't need as much heft underfoot as big runners. We recommend this shoe for runners with high arches looking for a light, flexible training shoe.
WEAR-TESTERS SAY: "The fit and comfort make this shoe perfect for tempo or long runs."--Scott LaPrath, 43, San Diego
"A good shoe, but it needs more cushioning, especially in the forefoot."--Brent Abel, 21, East Lansing

I bought these shoes on clearance after running for years in Gel Nibus or Saucony. Currently training for a marathon, I am clocking consistent miles; and these shoes hurt the back of my heel--too little cushioning, I think..
