WE SAY: The Control has been updated with a softer sockliner that incorporates two layers of memory foam that improve the shoe's fit. Adidas has also added a seamless mesh layer inside the upper to reduce chafing across the top of the foot. The outsole features a firmer rubber compound around the perimeter that gives the shoe added support and helps guard against tread wear. We recommend this shoe for lighter runners with flat arches or average-weight runners with lower arches looking for a stable, everyday trainer.

Outstanding shoe - great cushioning, even after many miles. BUT: be careful. The Control 5 (the update of the 4) is a total disaster.
