Avia Euphoric II
Manufacturer: Avia
Price: $100
Reviewed in: Dec 2006 Shoe Guide
We say: Avia positions the Euphoric as a neutral-cushioned shoe, but we've placed it in the stability category because of its cantilever heel design (wider at the bottom, thinner at the top) and plastic foot cradle, both of which enhance stability. Lighter than its predecessor by .2 ounces, the updated Euphoric comes with a more breathable mesh upper and fewer overlays for a more comfortable fit. Recommended for bigger runners with normal to high arches, or average-weight runners who tend to wear their shoes down on the outside heel first.
Wear-testers say: "I liked the support and lightweight feel."--Jordan Smith, 22, East Lansing
"A solid trainer, but it wasn't as flexible as I like."--Alex Nourse, 21, Allentown
