We say: The updated 1222 features a medial (arch) stability device reinforced with plastic to enhance motion control and give a smoother transition from footstrike to toe-off. The shoe comes with a strip of soft, durable foam that lies below the sockliner for a more cushioned feel right out of the box. That said, our Shoe Lab tests found the 1222 to be the second firmest shoe in the guide. We recommend this shoe for bigger runners with flat to normal arches who need a durable trainer.
Wear-testers say: "More comfortable than the 1221, and it had more cushioning, too."--Jacob Crowe, 24, East Lansing
"Great breathability, and they accommodated my orthotics well."--Ryan Mancini, 24, Allentown

After having searched for several different brands of shoes I found this one to best fit my needs. I put a couple hundred miles on one pair and they felt good the whole time. I used them in San Diego marathon and had very good luck with them. The only drawback to consider is that they are a little on the heavy side. They weigh about 14 ounces so I will be looking to stay in the 12 oz range. It is a very comfortable and supportive shoe that will deliver results. .
