We say: The Continental Divide is built on a new last (foot form), so runners can expect a bit more room in the forefoot compared with other Montrail models. This new shoe sports a firmer wedge of foam on the medial (inner) side of the midsole as well as an arch bridge, both of which enhance support. Other features worth noting are the plastic plate that Montrail sandwiched in the midsole for protection against sharp rocks and the sticky rubber outsole designed to maintain traction on slippery trails. Recommended for bigger runners with low to flat arches who frequently run on more technical, rocky surfaces.
Wear-tester says: "I really liked these shoes for their stability and roomy feel."--Sarah Winslow, 30, East Lansing

Simply the best shoes I have ever run in. There is plenty of room in the toe box, so to allow the feet to fall more evenly when you stride, and they feel great right out of the box. I am already on my second set!! They have made me a better runner for sure. .

Great heal support for tearing it up on the down hill, and rocks are no prob with the stiff sole..
