Scenic waterfront out and back course. Accurately measured - AIMS, IAAF and Athletics Canada certified. Boston Marthon Qualifier. On Sunday, October 12, 2008, the City of Victoria will host over 10,000 participants in the 29th Annual Royal Victoria Marathon. The weekend features a Marathon (42.2K), Half Marathon (21.1K), 8K Road Race and the Thrifty Foods 1.2K Kids Run. Three official charities - KidSport, Raise-A-Reader and Runners of Compassion. Event weekend kicks off on Friday, October 10 at the Victoria Conference Centre, with the RVM Race Expo. On Saturday, October 11 we have a Speaker Series and Carbo Gala Dinner. The Speaker Series is free and open to the public. The dinner is a ticketed event and is held at the beautiful Fairmont Empress Hotel. The weekend also features course tours, pre- and post-race massage. The weekend concludes with Awards Ceremonies at the Victoria Conference Centre from 10:00am - 2:00pm on Sunday.
