PACEMASTER PLATINUM PRO VR TREADMILL

The first treadmill with a negative incline to train those quads for Boston

We say: The Pro VR offers six courses modeled after different terrain types, such as a mountainous climb, hilly trail, or coastal path. These courses simulate running outdoors by covering a set distance and varying the terrain every 52 feet, which shifts the burden across different muscles. It's also the first home treadmill to offer a negative incline (up to -3 percent), which one tester commented would help prepare her quads for the Boston Marathon's hilly course. We like the Constant Effort Compensation Mode, which slows down for uphills and speeds up for downhills so you maintain the same exertion throughout.
Our tester says: "While I got a great workout from the terrain courses, the handrails were too far back for me to swing my arms comfortably." --Tim Scott, 42
