John J. Kelley celebrates his Boston Marathon victory 50 years ago this month

John J. Kelley celebrates the 50th anniversary of his 1957 Boston Marathon victory this month and remembers when his own father told him "there's a fellow up in Massachusetts who has our name and he's a great marathoner. The fateful meeting of Johnny A. and Johnny J. came not long after. "By a filip of teasing fate," notes the often poetic 'Younger,' "I bore the monarch's name."
