Half-Marathon Challenge

Q&A

Valdi gets expert advice as he tries to lose weight and make it to the half-marathon finish line.

PUBLISHED 02/21/2008

Valdi: Last night, around 6:30 PM I had 6 oz of fish, about 1.5 cups rice, my large bag of veggies and felt nice and full. Around 9pm though I needed something else. What would be a healthy snack for me to have before heading to bed?

Leslie:
For an evening snack it's best to think volume. For instance, something like a smoothie where you can blend 8oz of milk, 6oz of yogurt and half a cup of fruit is a good suggestion. Also, during dinner high volume foods like soups and chili will work well to help you feel full and chase away the need for a bedtime snack.
