Hydration While Running

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH WITH

PUBLISHED 12/05/2006

Not long ago I was running a 12-miler on a Saturday morning. About 10 minutes from home, that unwelcome feeling hit me. Hard. I debated knocking on a neighbor's door but that seemed rude, so I accelerated into interval-training pace, and made it back home, just in time. Hopefully, you'll never be in distress when you're far from either a store or a tree. But if you routinely run into this kind of problem, you might want to get up earlier for your prerun meal (so you have plenty of time to take care of, ahem, business). At the very least, you can scout out routes that take you past pit stops.
